Excitement is building among some of Mayo's brightest young camogs as they pack up their gearbags with hurls in hand and prepare to set off to Meath for the All-Ireland Under-14 camogie series.
The event, in Trim, is part of a bumper weekend of camogie action, culminating in the All-Ireland senior camogie finals in Croke Park on Sunday evening.
For the Under-14s in green and red, though, the task at hand is navigating the group stages of their own All-Ireland, where they have been drawn against Tyrone, Wicklow, and Louth.
After the competition, the squad, which is managed by a coaching team of Adrian Hession, Brian Delaney, Suzanne O'Brien, Rose McGrath, and Jennifer Houlihan, will make their way to DCU, where they'll stay before the big day on Sunday.
The Mayo girls will step out onto the Croke Park turf for a momentous occasion in their young sporting lives in between the Intermediate Final, between Offaly and Kerry, and the big Galway-Cork showdown in the race for the O'Duffy Cup.
Over 1,500 young stars will walk around the turf as part of the occasion.
Four clubs will be represented in the weekend's action, with Tooreen, Ballina, Castlebar, and Westport girls all representing their club and county with pride in the competition.
