Electric Ireland, proud sponsor of the Electric Ireland GAA Minor Championships, is delighted to unveil the 15 standout performers from the 2025 Minor Football season, as it announces the 2025 Electric Ireland GAA Minor Star Football Team of the Year with one Mayo player named on the team. This year’s Minor Football Championship once again delivered a season of captivating drama, exceptional talent and one packed with plenty of minor and major moments as Electric Ireland reflects on their fourteenth year in partnership with the GAA.

Mayo’s Ben Holmes has been named in the full forward line on the team. Holmes a native of Westport throughout the season as he kicked 0-12 across a campaign that saw Mayo reach the All Ireland Semi Final in which they lost out to the eventual All Ireland runners-up, Kerry. Holmes is son of former Mayo player and manager, Pat Holmes.

Tom Reilly and David Heaney’s men reached the Connacht final but narrowly lost out to Roscommon in the decider. In an impressive quarter final victory over Leinster Champions Offaly teed up the green and red against Kerry in a last four clash. Ben Holmes produced an eye-catching display that day in Ennis but ultimately Mayo lost out by three points to a talented Kerry side.

All Ireland finalists, Tyrone and Kerry make up 13 of the team with Roscommon’s Dara Curran and Mayo’s Ben Holmes making up the remaining two spots.

Uachtarán CLG Jarlath Burns commented: “A special congratulations to each of the players selected for the 2025 Electric Ireland Minor Football Team of the Year. This competition consistently demonstrates the evolving excellence within our game and it was a privilege to observe the passion and commitment shown by these athletes this season while proudly wearing their county colours”.
