FIXTURES: The ties in the Mayo Intermediate Club Championship

The Mayo Intermediate Club Football Championship is often described as the most competitive of all, and with good reason.

This weekend, 16 teams will set off on the first step of what could very conceivably be a chance to take the stairway to heaven. Or, at least, Senior football.

This season, we'll bring you closer to the action, with reports and analysis here, as well as in Tuesday's edition of The Mayo News. Here are the fixtures.

GROUP ONE

Lahardane v Ardnaree Sarsfields; Friday at 7 pm in Bofeenaun

Ballinrobe v Castlebar Mitchels 'B'; Sunday at 12.30 pm in Ballinrobe

GROUP TWO

Kilmeena v Burrishoole; Saturday at 7.15 pm in Kilmeena

Cill Chomain v The Neale; Sunday at 2 pm in Cill Chomain

GROUP THREE

Islandeady v Davitts; Friday at 7 pm in Islandeady

Parke-KC v Kiltane; Sunday at 2 pm in Parke

GROUP FOUR

Louisburgh v Hollymount-Carramore; Saturday at 5 pm in Louisburgh

Moy Davitts v Kilmaine; Sunday at 3.30 pm in Foxford
