ALERT: Mayo LGFA club championship draw throws up intriguing fixtures

Reigning senior champion Westport will face Carnacon, Castlebar and Charlestown while runner-up Knockmore are in a group with Burrishoole, Hollymount and Kilmovee Shamrocks

While the Mayo LGFA U-16 team is facing Kerry tonight in the All-Ireland final, the groups for the senior, intermediate and Junior championships were drawn yesterday.

The teams know their opponents now, as well es the dates for all the fixtures.

The three group matchdays will take place on August 31, September 7 and September 14. The semi-finals are pencilled in for September 21, while the final is scheduled for October 5.

Three new teams will have their first championship appearance this year: Eastern Gaels, Aghamore B and Castlebar Mitchels B enter the Junior B competition.

Mayo LGFA Senior Championship:

Group A: Charlestown, Westport, Carnacon, Castlebar

Group B: Kilmovee Shamrocks, Hollymount, Burrishoole, Knockmore

Mayo LGFA Intermediate Championship:

Group A: Claremorris, Louisburgh, Kilmoremoy, Aghamore

Group B: Ballyhaunis, Davitts, MacHale Rovers, Moy Davitts

Mayo LGFA Junior Championship:

Group A: The Neale, St Brigids, Parke/Keelogues/Crimlin, Kilmeena

Group B: Swinford Killasser, Balla, Westport B, Breaffy

Mayo LGFA Junior B Championship:

Group A: Islandeady, Kiltimagh, MacHale Rovers B, Eastern Gaels

Group B: Belmullet, Tourmakeady, Claremorris B, Castlebar B

Group C: Kiltane, Kilmaine, Shrule Glencorrib, Ballinrobe

Group D: Aghamore, Cill Chomáin, Achill
