It’s hard to describe the 2025 that Liam McHale and the Mayo Ladies have endured so far as anything other than challenging.

A poor League campaign saw the Green and Red relegated to the second tier, and they will ultimately be disappointed with the showing they put out in the Connacht final against Galway.

However, the All-Ireland Series brings with it a chance to salvage a modicum of positivity. In terms of challenges, none come stiffer than the one which they will face in Kerry.

Here, we’ll bring you all you need to know about the trip to the Kingdom for the Mayo Ladies, including how to purchase tickets, where to watch on television, and what Saturday’s opponents bring to the party.

We’ll have updates here, as well as a full report in Tuesday’s edition of The Mayo News.

What happened in the last game?

In Round Five of the National League, Kerry turned on the style in the second half to coast to a ten-point victory over their Mayo counterparts.

Mayo were without their totemic forward Sinead Walsh, who ended the league as the competition’s top scorer. At the other end, Síofra O’Shea was on fire for the visitors to Swinford, scoring 1-5.

What do Kerry bring to the table?

If any side is looking to bring home the title of All-Ireland Champions for 2025, then they’ll have to wrestle the title from the hands of Mayo’s opponents on Saturday.

Mark Bourke’s side have been spellbinding thus far in 2025, backing up last year’s All-Ireland success with a League and provincial title.

Niamh Carmody has been terrorising defences for the last three years, and has won a trio of All-Stars to boot. Fellow 2024 All-Star Danielle O’Leary is another who will need watching, having brought her sparkling 2024 form into this calendar year.

Who is refereeing the game?

Carlow native Jonathan Murphy has been selected by LGFA to officiate this one. The whistler has no shortage of experience in officiating in the biggest days of the sporting calendar, having taken charge of the 2024 and 2020 deciders.
