What happened in the last game?

The last clash between Mayo and Sligo came all the way back in 2021, when Mayo cantered to a 3-23 to 0-12 win over Sligo at the same stage of the competition.

What do Sligo bring to the game?

Sligo had a poor start to Division 3 in sling three on the spin, but a 0-19 apiece draw with Fermanagh kick-started their form. They, much like Mayo, gathered momentum as the regular league season went on, with their most recent outing a drubbing of Fermanagh.

When talking about prolific players in their ranks, there’s no looking past Niall Murphy. The Coolera/Strandhill man is their leader, assumes the captaincy, and has scored 0-33 of his side’s 2-122 this season.

Who is refereeing the game?

Cavan man Noel Mooney has been assigned to take charge of this one. Mooney was most recently in the centre of the park for Mayo’s Allianz League defeat to Galway, a match that prompted an investigation into an alleged shove on the referee from a fan after the game.
