THE throw-in time for Sunday’s Allianz National Football League game between Mayo and Galway has been moved forward.

This comes after Mayo GAA requested that the GAA change the throw-in time due to damage sustained to the floodlights in Hastings Insurance MacHale Park during Storm Éowyn.

Mayo’s Division 1 meeting with Galway was due to take place at 3.45 pm but has now been moved forward to 2.30 pm.

Several floodlights in the stadium were broken while the roof of the stand also sustained damage during the storm.

The Castlebar stadium has been assessed to determine the full extent of the damage.

Other GAA facilities around the county were damaged or destroyed by Storm Éowyn, including the Connacht GAA Air Dome in Bekan and Burrishoole GAA Club’s stand in McGovern Park in Newport.
