Crossmolina and Ballinderry GAA Clubs have both issued statements following the postponement of their All-Ireland final due to a ‘tragic incident’.
In a statement on social media, Crossmolina - who were due to contest their first All-Ireland final since 2003 - said they were ‘devastated at the news of the tragic incident that has occurred.’
“Our heartfelt thoughts are with the family and friends at this difficult time.
“We have been in contact with our members involved, and they have requested that we all understand their need for privacy at this incredibly difficult time.
“Our Intermediate All Ireland Final game, scheduled for this Sunday, the 12th, has been postponed, and we will announce a rescheduled date once confirmed.
“Our Club will be issuing no further statement at this time.”
Acknowledging the postponement of the game, Ballinderry Shamrocks said: “Our thoughts are with the Crossmolina community, and all impacted at this time.”
The All-Ireland Intermediate Club Final is due to be rescheduled by the GAA’s Central Competitions Controls Committee in due course.
