CILL Chomáin’s county title-winning manager has stepped down after two seasons involved with the Mayo junior champions, The Mayo News can confirm.

Former Knockmore footballer Nigel Reape has stepped away from the Erris side after guiding them to their first county junior title since 2013.

Reape joined the Gaeltacht side in 2022 after he was asked to assist the junior team manager John Maloney, who is based in the UK.

When contacted by The Mayo News this afternoon (Wednesday), Reape cited work commitments among the reasons for his stepping aside.

Cill Chomáin were crowned Mayo junior champions after they defeated Bonniconlon in a replay in November.

Their Connacht championship campaign ended at the semi-finals when they were beaten by future Connacht champions and All-Ireland junior finalists Ceathrú Rua from Galway.
