MAYO manager Kevin McStay has made two changes to the team which started against Galway in the Connacht championship final.
Knockmore's Darren McHale comes in for Fergal Boland in the attack while Diarmuid O'Connor - who came on a sub against Galway in the Connacht final - starts in place of Rory Brickenden.
Ballina Stephenites defender Sam Callinan, who has featured predominantly in the full-back line, is due to line out at centre-back. The Mayo full-back line will feature Donnacha McHugh, David McBrien and Jack Coyne.
This weekend's All Ireland Series meeting with Cavan will see Diarmuid O'Connor make his 50th senior championship appearance in the green and red jersey. The two-time Young Footballer of the Year from Ballintubber made his Mayo senior debut against New York on May 5, 2014.
Mayo and Cavan will meet for just the sixth time in the championship when the two counties clash in MacHale Park this weekend.
Mayo have won three, the 1932 All-Ireland semi-final, and two qualifiers in 2005 and 2007.
Cavan's two wins came in the 1937 All-Ireland semi-final and 1948 All-Ireland final, their last championship win against Mayo.
Mayo have a 100 percent record against Ulster teams in Hastings Insurance MacHale Park, winning against Cavan (2007), Fermanagh (2016), Derry (2017), Armagh (2019), Donegal (2019) and Monaghan (2022).
Stephen Coen will captain the team on the day. Meath’s David Coldrick is named to referee this game - which is not being shown on TV or live streamed.
Mayo Senior Football team to face Cavan is as follows: Colm Reape (Knockmore); Jack Coyne (Ballyhaunis), David McBrien (Ballaghaderreen), Donnacha McHugh (Castlebar Mitchels); Stephen Coen (Hollymount/Carramore, captain), Sam Callinan (Ballina Stephenites), Eoghan McLaughlin (Westport); Matthew Ruane (Breaffy), Diarmuid O'Connor (Ballintubber); Jack Carney (Kilmeena), Darren McHale (Knockmore), Jordan Flynn (Crossmolina Deel Rovers); Aidan O'Shea (Breaffy), Tommy Conroy (The Neale), Ryan O'Donoghue (Béal an Mhuirthead)
