MAYO will learn their opposition for the 2024 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship when the groups are drawn tomorrow afternoon (April 30).

Their opponents will consist of a provincial finalist/semi-finalist – depending on their Connacht final result against Galway - a third seed team and a fourth seed team who did not contest their provincial final.

The third and fourth seeds are allocated based on league standings.

Should Mayo win the Connacht Championship on Sunday, they will avoid being placed in a group with the champions of Munster, Leinster and Ulster.

Teams who are due to meet in a provincial final (seeds 1 and 2) cannot be in the same group. However, teams who have already played each other earlier in this year’s championships can be drawn to the same groups.

In last year’s championship, Mayo recorded an away win in Kerry, a home win against Louth and loss to Cork which saw them finish third in their qualifying group.

Kevin McStay’s men subsequently defeated Galway in Pearse Stadium in the preliminary quarter-final before being beaten by Dublin in the last eight.

Mayo will play their first game of the 2024 championship on the weekend of May 18-19.

Should they be victorious against Galway, they will play either Derry, Tyrone, Roscommon or Monaghan at home on that weekend.

A defeat on Sunday would see them face one of Cavan, Cork, Meath or Westmeath at home on the same weekend.

You can watch the draw for the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship live on GAA.ie (GAANOW) and available on the official GAA social media channels. The draw takes place at 3pm.
