Castlebar Nines new Mayo GAA event for Easter weekend

The Castlebar Nines is taking place on march 30-31 for the first time

The newest Gaelic Football competition is in town that will have GAA fans witness exciting sport. Mayo county town Castlebar will host the new Nines tournament on March 30-31. 

The new format has nine players present on the field at all times, accompanied by three subs, which helps promote positive attacking football. 

Registrations are open. Apart from the hosts Castlebar Mitchels, teams from across Ireland have already signed up to it: From Donegal, Dublin, Kildare, Cavan, Leitrim and Sligo. Register your team here.

With competitions for both men's and ladies' teams, there's something for everyone. And it is promised to be a family-friendly event with activities for kids, live music and the festival marquee as the centrepiece of entertainment. Find out more on the Castlebar Nines website
