Tributes paid following sad death of Mayo woman who was a 'kindness to the core'

Tributes have poured in following the sad and unexpected death of Una McGinty, late of of Tyrawley Tce, Ballina, Co Mayo.

Una passed away peacefully at Mayo University Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She is predeceased by her father Vin, her brother Patrick and Patsy Egan.

Beloved daughter of Syliva and dear mother to Padraig, Bernard, Lisa and Trisha.

She will be sadly missed by her mother, sons, daughters, grandchildren Jack and Jamie, daughter-in-law Leona, her brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, and friends.

Heartfelt condolences have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Una, with one mourner writing, 

"Please accept my sincere condolence on the loss of your lovely mum & daughter. Una was a breath of fresh air in the lives of all who knew and loved her. She was fun and kindness to the core. You were blessed to have her in your lives, no more than all who knew her. May her kind and gentle soul rest in heavenly peace."

Another wrote,

"Padraig, Bernard, Lisa, Trisha and extended Egan and McGinty families. We are so sorry to hear about Una's sudden passing, she was an amazing lady and lovely neighbour. May she rest in peace. Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers."

While another wrote,

"Sincere condolences to all of Una's family. She was such a kind lady to all she helped."

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing at McGowan’s Funeral Home, Ballina (Eircode F26 V274) this evening, Wednesday, February 26, from 5pm until 6:30pm.

Funeral will arrive to St. Patrick’s Church, Ballina, on Thursday morning, February 27, for Requiem Mass at 11:30am followed by burial Leigue Cemetery, Ballina

Una’s funeral mass will be live streamed on www.ballinaparish.org
