'Auntie Mary was very loving and kind'
An 88 year old woman from Mayo has passed away with tributes pouring in from friends, family and the local community.
Mary Rowland was from Bofeenaun, Ballina, Mayo. She was predeceased by her husband Edward and sister Celia.
She is deeply missed by her loving sons John Joe, Eddie and Gerald, daughters Regina and Caroline, brother John Philbin, sons in law Patrick and Con, daughters in law Teresa and Margaret, grandchildren Pamela, Paul, John, Louise, Sinead, Dermott, Liam, Rachel and Aisling, sister in law Maureen, brother in law John Joe, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Mary will be fondly missed by family, friends and by all in her community.
Mary's nephew paid her tribute with a heartfelt message on RIP.ie, "Auntie Mary was a very loving, kind aunt with a welcoming smile. I have fond memories of working on her and Uncle Eddie’s farm as a young boy. Her home cooking was simply the best. A lot of hard work but an abundance of fun. You could feel the love. I miss her and I know she is going straight to heaven.

Another person said, "My deepest sympathies to the extended Rowland family on the sad passing of Mary. Thinking of you in particular Caroline, my friend and colleague , I know it isn’t easy to say goodbye to your cherished mom. I hope you will find comfort in knowing that you are in our thoughts and prayers. May Mary rest in eternal peace and happiness. Xxx".

Funeral Arrangements:
Reposing at Leonard's Funeral Home, Lahardane on Friday evening from 5pm to 7pm, with removal to St Mary's Church, Bofeenaun.
Requiem Mass on Saturday in Bofeenaun at 11am and burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only.
