RIP: 'A true gentleman' - Tribute pour in following sad death of  beloved Mayo man

Tributes have been paid following the sad death of David Michael, late of Rathmeel, Ballina, Co. Mayo.

David, who was predeceased by his loving wife Coby, shall be dearly missed by his loving daughter Wendy, sons Paul and Rodney, son in law Tony, daughter in law Fiona, grandchildren Emma, Elizabeth, Michael, William, and Henry.

Also fondly remembered by his brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, Coby’s family in Holland, extended relations, friends, and neighbours.

Heartfelt condolences have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered David, with one mourner writing,

"Deepest sympathy to the Michael family on the passing of David. I had the pleasure of building his house. He was a gentleman to deal with. May he rest in the peace of Christ and may you be comforted in your sad loss."

Another wrote,

"Our sincere condolences to all David 's family on his passing. We are grateful for his and Coby's friendship and have many nice memories of them over the years. Rest in peace David. You will be greatly missed but never forgotten."

While another wrote,

"Sincere sympathy to Wendy, Rodney, Paul, Tony, Emma, Michael and extended family on the sad passing your Dad/ Grandad. David was a true gentleman and we will always remember how helpful he was when we all lived in Dublin. He had a great since of humour and always had a smile on his face. May his gentle soul rest in peace."

Funeral Arrangements

Funeral Service will take place on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 1pm in the Presbyterian Church, Walsh Street, Ballina, Co Mayo, F26 CN13.

Cremation Service at 4pm on Saturday, February 8, 2025 in the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome Cemetery and Crematorium, Harold's Cross Road, Dublin 6W, D6W HY98
