Disqualified and drunk: Gardaí stop speeding driver in Mayo village crackdown

An Garda Siochána Mayo have quickly cracked down on a speeding car.

Following complaints from the locals of Bonniconlon in relation to motorists speeding through the village, Gardai from the Mayo Roads Policing Unit carried out a speed check.

Gardai detected this vehicle with the incorrect documentation on the windscreen. But there was more.

Court date for driver 

After a check on the Garda Mobility App the driver of the vehicle was currently serving a disqualification from driving.

The driver of the vehicle was then Breath Tested to check if there was alcohol in his breath. The driver also failed this test and was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.

This driver now faces a court date for driving while disqualified and potentially drunk driving offence pending results of test.
