Before she was elected President, Mrs Campion served on the Chamber Council for a number of years, holding several key positions, including Treasurer and Vice President.

Cliona Campion has been newly elected President of the Ballina Chamber of Commerce for the 2026–2027 term.

Mrs Campion was elected to the role during the Chamber’s annual meeting, succeeding the outgoing president, Mary Moyles.

Together with her husband, Ed, she has co-owned Campion Freight Services Ltd since 2002. The independent freight forwarding company provides sea, air, and road freight services to destinations worldwide.

Before she was elected President, Mrs Campion served on the Chamber Council for a number of years, holding several key positions, including Treasurer and Vice President.

Her appointment represents a notable milestone, as she follows in the footsteps of her father, TJ Tyrrell, a well-known local businessman who served as President of Ballina Chamber from 1981 to 1982.

Speaking to The Mayo News following her appointment, Mrs Campion said her priority is to help reinvigorate the town and support local businesses.

“My main thing is just to bring a positive outcome for businesses that are struggling at the moment. They need a voice, and the Chamber would hope to be a voice for them,” she said.
