MANY warm tributes have been paid in recent days to Anna O’Connell, Dixon, Devlin Farm, Ahena, Taugheen, Mayo, who died at home surrounded by her loving family.

Anna had an abiding fondness for nature and the soil and was closely associated with organic farming and an abiding respect for the environment.

She loved the great outdoors and brought an enthusiasm and passion to her work that was truly infectious.

South West Mayo Development Company was among those that joined in the tributes to Anna. “We had the pleasure of working with Anna on our Social Farming programme.

"The impact she made on the lives of those who visited the farm will stay with them forever, a fitting legacy from a woman who radiated joy and kindness.”

Siobhan and Peter Kelly, Sandyhill Westport, said: “Anna was the most genuine giver in her life. Hazel and Daniel were both the apples of her eye.

"Oliver, meeting you was when Anna really shone in life, the greatest gift Anna could ever have received. Two people enriched in love and nature.

“She was so proud of her organic farm. Her healing energy was so strong for others, a gift that was shared to so many people. Anna, you were so precious in your life, and enriched so many people.”

Janet Corbin Hinchion, Claremorris, said Anna was a beautiful person, a talented artist and a person who had a wonderful attitude towards life.

“The Kenyan community of Kyangunga, Kitui, send you their condolences. Anna gave inspiration, awakened creativity and happiness in the lives of the youths and their parents that she encountered during her Artistic Residency in early 2020.”

Reposing was at Gilligan’s Funeral Home, Claremorris, and interment took place in Taugheen Cemetery following Requiem Mass celebrated by Fr Sean Flynn, PP, in St Michael’s Church, Taugheen.
