Clogher Environmental Group CLG, Co. Mayo at the Aviva Broker Awards ceremony
This year, Aviva Ireland – brokers and financial advisors – awarded a total of €140,000 to 58 organisations nationwide, selected from 155 broker-nominated entries.
Mayo's Clogher Environmental Group CLG was nominated by John Kerrigan of Hastings Insurance and received, as runner-up, €11,000 to support its Clogher Bog Biodiversity and Education Project.
The project will involve biodiversity surveys, bog restoration, and rewilding, alongside community engagement initiatives such as educational programs and interpretative signage to raise awareness of the bog’s ecological value.
Participation grants of €700 were also awarded to the first 50 eligible entries nationwide, helping more community groups access support.
The Aviva Broker Community Fund allows brokers and financial advisors to nominate charities and community groups making a tangible difference in their local areas.
Brian O’Neill, Head of Sponsorship, Sustainability & External Communications at Aviva Ireland, said:
“Every year we’re inspired by the incredible work of the organisations nominated for the fund by brokers and financial advisors across the country, and this year was no exception. The passion and clarity of purpose we see from local groups is exceptional, and it’s a privilege to help advance work that creates real impact on the ground. Congratulations to Clogher Environmental Group CLG – a worthy award recipient from Co. Mayo, where this funding will make a meaningful difference to their local community.”
Now in its eighth year, the Aviva Broker Community Fund supports initiatives across areas including diversity, equality and inclusion, climate action, and financial wellbeing, helping strengthen the communities where Aviva customers and colleagues live and work.
Clogher Environmental Group CLG’s award highlights the growing focus on environmental conservation and education in Mayo, providing resources to enhance both local habitats and community awareness.
