St Colman’s College has expressed warmest congratulations to past pupil Rio Mortimer, who received an Excellence Scholarship award from the University of Galway last Thursday night.
Rio, who played for the Mayo GAA Under-20s in 2025, received his Excellence Scholarship in recognition of his outstanding Leaving Certificate results last summer.

“This achievement is testament to Rio's diligence, intellect, and exemplary commitment to his studies throughout his time with us in the College. We wish him continued success in the University of Galway, where he is studying Engineering,” said school principal, Roy Hession.
