STUDENTS from Mount Saint Michael Secondary School, Claremorris, in association with St Colman’s College, are ready to take to the stage this week for their power-packed presentation of ‘The Band’, a musical based on the songs of boy band, Take That.
The feel good factor to these songs sees the cast bring a whole new level of energy and enthusiasm to the production under the guidance and direction and enthusiasm of music teacher, Siobhán Shaughnessy, and Elly Roberts, the creative director with an impeccable eye for detail.
The show is set in 1992 and for five 16 year-old girls, ‘the band’ is everything. All of 25 years later in 2017, the group of girls, who were once inseparable, reunite in Prague to see their heartthrobs one last time, and try once more to fulfill their dream of meeting the boy band whose music became the soundtrack to their lives.
Among the songs included in the production of this show are Never Forget, Back For Good, A Million Love Songs, Greatest Day, Pray, The Flood, Relight My Fire, Shine, and Rule The World.
The girls who are playing the main roles in this production are Amy McCafferty, Caoimhe Kitching, Grace Murphy, Emily Brogan, Amelia Moore, Meadbh Burke, Aoife Walsh, Danielle Mullin and Holly Roche.
Why not join them for a night of laughter, nostalgia, and show-stopping performances by the talented students of Mount Saint Michael and the lads in ‘The Band’ from St Colman’s College.
The show will be staged this week in Claremorris Town Hall Theatre on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, October 21, 22 and 23, starting at 8pm nightly. Tickets and information can be had by calling 094 9310999 or by email at info@townhall.ie.
