The Mayo Garda Youth Awards 2026 were officially launched on February 17 at the Breaffy House Resort.
Organised by Mayo Gardai in association with Breaffy House Resort, the awards recognise and celebrate outstanding young people between the ages of 13 and 21 from across the county.
The initiative highlights the significant and often unsung contributions made by young individuals and groups whose actions help make their communities safer, stronger, and better places to live.

The Mayo Garda Youth Awards highlight the many young people whose dedication, leadership, resilience, and community spirit set an inspiring example for others.
There are four award categories:
Individual Award – Making a positive contribution to their Community, making it a better place to live
Group Award – Groups of two (2) or more making a positive contribution to their community, making it a better place to live
Special Achievement Award – Overcame difficult circumstances, defied the odds, and whose commitment deserves recognition
Community Safety Award – Through a Crime Prevention or Safety Initiative/Innovation, made their community a safer place to live.
