A Mayo woman had a surprise interaction with former Ireland rugby star Tommy Bowe in Castlebar today.
When the former Ulster and Ospreys player popped into Unit 7 on Market Street this morning, Eileen O'Keeffe
"I was the lucky lady he gifted two jackets. Such a nice and friendly guy," Eileen said, speaking to The Mayo News: "I was so stunned, such a thoughtful thing to do. It absolutely made my day."
Eileen is a hair salon owner from Kiltimagh. She had the day off work and just decided to take a spin to Castlebar.
"To phone my dad Gerard O'Keeffe and husband David Kelly afterwards, and tell them what just happened was brilliant. Their reaction was priceless. David is a fan anyway. He was laughing. When I send the picture he rang going 'I can't believe it.'
It was such a surprise for Eileen to walk into Unit 7 today and be greeted with such a positive happy vibe. She left with a smile on her face.
"Really makes you realise that there is still so much good in the world."
