The Garda National Cyber Crime Bureau investigation will see the pair brought before Castlebar District Court

Two people have been charged in the wake of a Garda National Cyber Crime Bureau Search and Arrest in Mayo.

Yesterday (Wednesday, October 8), it was revealed that a man and woman in their 30s were arrested for a series of offences related to criminal activity on the Darkweb.

The offences included money laundering, contrary to Section Seven of the Criminal Justice Act. A quantity of cannabis was also seized at the scene of two residential properties in a rural area of West Mayo.

Also seized was a significant volume of electronic exhibits.

Now, the pair have been charged and are due to appear before Castlebar District Court today.
