Popular Mayo clothing store announces 'fond farewell'

Another popular local Mayo business has announced that they will be closing their doors to the public.

Don Racine ladies' fashion shop has announced their closure, marking the end of an era for the family-led business.

The business, founded nearly 45 years ago by Michael and Margaret Parsons, has been serving the people of Castlebar since 1981.

The Castle Street venue has been renowned in the community for their high-quality clothing and their warm welcome for anyone who passed through the doors for decades.

However, now they will be closing their doors for good, marking the final chapter of an incredible tale.

The boutique paid tribute to their customers, staff, and everyone who helped make the store's time in the county town so special.

Don Racine has been more than just a ladies' boutique; it’s been part of the community, a place where we’ve shared laughter, conversations, and countless moments helping women feel stylish and confident," a statement on social media read.

"Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of meeting incredible customers, many of whom became friends.

"We want to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported us throughout this journey. Your loyalty and kindness have meant more than words can say."

Don Racine will be holding a closing-down sale in the coming days and weeks, with clothing on sale at a reduced rate.
