Mayo Older Persons’ Council hosts successful AGM & info Day in Castlebar

On Monday, September 15, the Mayo Older Persons’ Council (OPC) held a successful Annual General Meeting and Information Day at the TF Royal Hotel, Castlebar. The event brought together a wide range of stakeholders, service providers, and community members to celebrate and support older people in Mayo.

The event was officially opened by Cathaoirleach of Mayo County Council, Cllr Sean Carey, who welcomed attendees and acknowledged the importance of the Council’s work in promoting the age-friendly.

A series of presentations were delivered by a host of speakers, including John Condon, Acting Chief Executive of Mayo County Council; Anne Marie McGing, Mayo Arts Service, and Marie Nolan, Regional Programme Manager, Healthy Age Friendly Home Programme. 

The day concluded with musical entertainment provided by the Mayo County Council Choir. The Mayo Older Persons’ Council Executive extends sincere thanks to all speakers, information stand holders, the TF Royal Hotel, Gary Monaghan, Edel O’Malley MSP, Mayo County Council Choir, and all who attended and contributed to the success of the event.
