Minister Alan Dillon and Cllr Ger Deere launched the website along with members of the Castlebar community.
Castlebar Tidy Towns is delighted to take the next step on the digital journey with the launch of their very first website www.castlebartidytowns.ie.
The launch was officially carried out on The Mall by Alan Dillon TD, Minister of State for Small Business, Retail and the Circular Economy, who was also joined by Castlebar Tidy Towns Chairperson Cllr Ger Deere.
The new website is designed to be a central home for everything Tidy Towns in Castlebar. It will share updates on our projects and events, showcase the great work of our volunteers and opportunities to get involved, highlight the history and heritage of our town, provide useful tips and links on sustainability and the circular economy and feature a dedicated anti-litter section with advice on how we can all reduce waste and protect our environment.
The site will also carry the latest news via links to the Facebook and Instagram pages, contact details for the committee, a photo gallery of projects and events, and a section celebrating the awards and the many contributions of volunteers and supporters.
Speaking at the launch, Minister Dillon said: I’m delighted to launch Castlebar Tidy Towns’ new website. Tidy Towns is an incredible initiative, and right across the country, volunteers give their time not only to keep towns clean, but also to raise awareness about the environment and the importance of protecting it. Well done to all involved, in particular outgoing Chairperson Alan Mee, current Chairperson Cllr. Ger Deere, and the committee members. Here’s to future successes”.
Cllr. Ger Deere, Chairperson of Castlebar Tidy Towns, added: We are delighted to launch our very first website, which we believe will be both a focal point and a valuable reference for volunteers, the public, and the National Tidy Towns adjudicators when they visit Castlebar. This has been an exciting project for us, and I would encourage all residents’ groups, schools, and organisations to link in where they will find great ideas for projects and useful information. I would also like to sincerely thank Minister Alan Dillon for taking the time to launch the website this evening, and to acknowledge Michael Baynes, whose design and layout work has been outstanding, as well as our entire Tidy Towns Committee for their efforts in bringing this to life”.
Castlebar Tidy Towns is proud to launch this new resource for our community and invites everyone to visit www.castlebartidytowns.ie and join on the journey to keep Castlebar clean, green, and vibrant.
