Mayo County Council have confirmed that a stretch of road just outside Castlebar is set to be closed from today (Friday, July 4), with closures stretching into next week.
Earlier today, the Council confirmed that a stretch of the L-5784 in Breaffy will be closed to the public starting this morning at 9am.

The circa-1.1 kilometer portion of the road starts at the N60 junction, by Breaffy National School and the Shamrock Bar, and continues north to just past the Stepping Stones pre-school.
The works will continue until 5.30pm tonight, and will commence from 9am to 5.30pm on Monday, July 7, and Tuesday, July 8.
Diversion in the local area will be signposted, and local access along the L5784 will be provided. Emergency vehicles will also be accommodated.
