Achill Half Marathon and 10k takes place on July 5

The Achill Half Marathon and 10K returns this year on Saturday, July 5 marking an incredible 20 years of one of Ireland’s most scenic and cherished running events.

This year’s event promises to be extra special as we celebrate two decades of community, endurance, and spectacular Atlantic views.

The Achill Half Marathon & 10K has grown to become a landmark event on the Irish running calendar, drawing participants from across the country and beyond. As the community celebrates this milestone, they are delighted to announce an expanded programme of entertainment and festivities to honour our runners and supporters.

This year, they are pulling out all the stops with a main stage and live performances, headlined by local musical favourites Michael S Togher and his daughter Clodagh, whose music has captured the hearts of many. Adding to the excitement will be the pulse-pounding rhythm of The Hit Machine Drummers, sure to energise and inspire runners and spectators alike.

The Achill Half Marathon and 10k committee extend their heartfelt gratitude to their main sponsor, Westnet, whose support has helped make this year’s celebration possible. Their partnership has been instrumental in promoting this year's sold out event.

They would also like to extend sincere thanks to their sponsors — Sweeney’s SuperValu, Óstán Oileán Acla, and the Mulranny Park Hotel — for their continued support and generosity over the years. Their ongoing commitment is deeply appreciated and plays a vital role in the success of our event.
“A special thank you goes to our incredible volunteers, whose time, dedication, and spirit are the backbone of this event. From marshals to water station teams, setup crews to clean-up heroes – we couldn’t do it without you.

“We also want to acknowledge our wonderful Achill community, whose warmth and generosity define the unique atmosphere that makes this race so beloved. Your ongoing support, hospitality, and pride in our island make this a truly unforgettable experience for all involved,” a spokesperson said.

As always, the Achill Half Marathon & 10K is about more than running – it’s about connection, community, and celebration. They invite runners, walkers, supporters, and visitors to come and enjoy everything this beautiful island and this special anniversary event have to offer.
