Mayo basketball sensation Hazel Finn produced a superb display on her debut for her new team, Trinity Meteors, in the first round of the Domino’s Women’s Super League.
The Kiltimagh native scored 15 points and four assists to help Meteors beat Cavan Eagles 65-61.
The Irish Women’s Senior International player left the Liffey Celtics this summer, after winning the Paudie O’Connor National Cup.
With her 13 points and eight rebounds in the final against Killester, Finn was awarded the highly esteemed finals MVP award and the January 2025 Irish Times Sportswoman of the Month.
Trinity Meteors’ season opener against newly-promoted Cavan Eagles was a thrilling encounter that went down to the wire.
Overall, this was a strong start to the season for Trinity Meteors with their new Kiltimagh livewire. Head Coach Seamas Donnelly will have plenty of positives to take into next weekend’s clash against Fr Mathews in Cork.
