The development marks the next chapter for the Credit Union as modern headquarters take shape in the town centre

Construction has officially begun on Ballina Credit Union’s new premises on Pearse Street, marking a significant investment in the town centre for one of the community’s longest-serving financial institutions.

The new development represents the fifth in the credit union’s history, but while the location is changing, the credit union says its commitment to putting members first remains at the heart of everything it does.

The new Pearse Street premises will provide modern, state-of-the-art facilities for members and staff while maintaining the face-to-face service and access to cash that have been central to the organisation’s success.

Chairperson David Dwane said the investment reflects the Credit Union’s commitment to its customers.

“Our investment in Pearse Street reflects our confidence in the future of Ballina and our commitment to providing the very best environment for our members and staff,” he said. “The new premises will create an entirely different experience, with modern facilities, continued access to cash services and, most importantly, safeguard the personal face-to-face service that remains at the heart of everything we do.”

Mr Dwane also thanked members for their continued support and patience as the project progresses, noting the excitement surrounding the move.

Chief Executive Officer Maria Padden described the new building as an investment in both the credit union and the wider community.

“The Pearse Street office represents much more than a new location for the credit union,” she said. “It is an investment in our members, our staff and the future of community banking in Ballina.”

The credit union also acknowledged the support of the O’Rahilly Street community and neighbouring businesses, whose encouragement over the years has helped shape the organisation.

While construction is expected to continue for some time, the start of the works marks an important milestone for Ballina Credit Union.

Members are set to receive regular updates as the new headquarters takes shape on Pearse Street.
