The people of Ballina and Mayo are celebrating a moment of pride today, as Ailish Quinn has been selected to represent Ireland at the 2026 Women's Six Nations.

Ireland Head Coach Scott Bemand has included the local home-grown star in his 36-person squad for the upcoming competition.

The 19-year-old travelled to the IRFU High Performance Centre in January looking to stake her claim for inclusion.

The Connacht representative has also captained her country at Under-18 level, and made her senior debut for Ireland on August 2 in their build-up to the Women's Rugby World Cup warm-up match in Cork against Scotland.

Ireland will aim to get their Women's Six Nations campaign off to a positive start in the Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, against England on Saturday, April 11.

Quinn will be hoping to wear the green jersey of Ireland into battle in her home province, as Ireland face Italy in the Dexcom Stadium, Galway, on Saturday, April 18.
