Major roadworks at Mayo school planned to increase safety

Mayo County Council have signalled their intention to implement a series of traffic calming measures at a school in the north of the county as part of the 'Safe Routes to School' project.

The works are to take place on the routes surrounding Carn National School in Moygownagh.

The Council plans to include a raft of measures on the R-315 Pontoon-Crossmolina Road and the L-5165 Kileemashaska Road.

Those included pedestrian crossings, junction tightening, and the appropriate signage and road markings.
