Mayo arts festival returns for another year of events

Ballina Fringe Festival will take place from October 3 to 12 and the public are encouraged to purchase tickets early as shows are set to sell out quickly

Ballina Fringe Festival is set to take place once again from October 3 to 12. 

The Dirty Circus, a burlesque and cabaret show, will open the festival in The Cot & Cobble on October 3.

This year’s live music includes performances from renowned Irish singer-songwriter Gemma Hayes, who will perform a special solo show in St Michael’s Church on October 10.  

When it comes to food, a festival favourite from last year, Ballina Global Kitchen returns on October 12 at St Dymphna’s School. Admission is a 10 donation which will be shared amongst those cooking on the day. Under 12’s admission is free.

The festival will too be host to film, including a smartphone short film festival, spoken word and various performance arts based events. 

Ballina Fringe Fest is supported by the Ice House, the Arts Council of Ireland, Failte Ireland, and Mayo County Council.

Tickets are now on sale for all events via www.ballinafringefestival.ie and it is encouraged to purchase early as shows are set to sell out quickly.
