An opportunity to see Palestinian traditions will take place in Ballina on July 26.
An exciting and welcoming community event organised by a Palestinian woman living here in Mayo is taking place as 'Mayo Celebrates Palestine' takes place. The event is supported by the local branch of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC).
On Saturday, July 26, the event will take place from 12 noon to 5pm in the beautiful gardens of the Jackie Clarke Collection in Ballina where a fun day filled with culture, connection and fun takes place.
People can taste delicious traditional Palestinian food, immerse themselves in art exhibitions, enjoy beautiful henna tattoos and face painting while also participating in the traditional Palestinian dance, dabka.

A special selection from the internationally acclaimed HeART of Gaza exhibition will be on display, featuring powerful artworks by Gaza's youngest residents. Also, at the Ballina Arts Centre on the same day, you can view the incredible 305-metre-long Granny Squares for Gaza installation, a heartfelt expression of solidarity and friendship with the people of Gaza.
This is a chance to demonstrate that Ireland truly is the land of saints, scholars, and the céad míle fáilte. Solidarity begins with understanding and empathy, and Mayo has a proud tradition of both.
Everyone is warmly invited to come along while admission is free.
