Two Mayo twins are set to take to national airwaves this weekend in a bid to be crowned as part of the most talented family in Ireland.

Ballina sisters Aoife and Edel Sherry will be performing on episode six of TG4’s music show Réalta agus Gaolta on Sunday, March 16.

The show runs weekly, and pits different families against each other, and brings together a host of different groups from across the nation in a bid to be crowned as champion.

The twins form part of a three-person ensemble, which includes their cousin Caoimhe Giles, from County Meath.

This is not the first time that the twins have showcased their musical talents on the national airwaves, having previously performed in an ensemble for RTÉ One’s celebration of the feast of Corpus Christi.

Sean-nós champion Irial Ó’Ceallaigh and RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta broadcaster Sinéad Ní Uallacháin will be on the panel of judges, alongside guest judge and singer Piaras Ó Lorcáin.

Aoife Sherry, Edel Sherry, and Caoimhe Giles will be competing in episode six of Réalta agus Gaolta, which will be broadcast on Sunday, March 16, at 8.30 pm on TG4.
