THE Castlebar Community Games organisation has sent out a plea for volunteers and people to help lead the movement in the town. In a message to the public, they've appealed for help in order to keep things going in 2025.
“Now that the new year has started, we need to organise and plan for the year ahead. Our first mission is to organise an Annual General Meeting and elect officers and a committee for the year. A date and venue for this important meeting will soon be announced.
“Clubs and organisations who participate in Community Games will be invited to attend the meeting. Notifications will appear in the papers, social media and public notice forums and boards.
“The need to set up and elect people is very important because unless we do so we run the risk of not having Community Games in Castlebar for 2025. You may ask who will that effect and the answer is very simple, your children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews and nieces who deserve an opportunity to show their talents in the sporting and culture activities that Community Games affords them.”
