'Oh my days!' - Ireland features in ITV drama amid controversial sex scene with priest
Viewers of hit ITV crime series Unforgotten were left blushing at the weekend as the sixth series returned to screens with some racy scenes.
The series has a huge Irish contingent with the lead detective DCI Jess James being played by Irish actress Sinéad Keenan who once played the role of Farrah Phelan on RTE's Fair City.
Kin star Emmett Scanlan also features in the latest series as Patrick, the fiancé of MyAnna Buring's Melinda Ricci character. Patrick is paralysed following a recent tragedy while Melinda is a correspondent for Britannia News, Unforgotten's right-wing GB News-style organisation.
It is her character who takes the series to Ireland where she is based with scenes set in Cork aired last weekend. It's there she interacts with Fr Luke Ryan played by another Irish actor, Damien Molony. In controversial scenes in the first episode, she is seen having a sexual encounter with Fr Luke.

Viewers were quick to react to the scenes with one person writing on X: "Oh my days she's bonking the priest!" Another said: "Nothing says Catholic guilt like shagging a priest."

The web of characters are all linked to the discovery of a dismembered body in Whitney Marsh. The mystery weaves their stories together as detectives Jess James (Sinéad Keenan) and Sunny Khan (Sanjeev Bhaskar) and viewers attempting to join the dots and solve the cold case.
Viewers can watch the second episode of Unforgotten series 6 on Sunday night at 9pm on ITV1. Viewers outside the Republic of Ireland with access to the ITVX service can watch all episodes in series 6 now on demand.
