The issue affects the Newport Road, James Street, Carrowholly, Attireech, The Crescent and surrounding areas in Westport
Irish Water teams in Mayo are working to address water supply issues in the wake of damage to a valve in Westport, with reports of shortages in the area this evening (Tuesday, September 2).
The organisation has also moved to assure those affected by the supply issues that teams are working hard to repair the issue, which stems from damage to a valve in the town.

At present, the areas of Carrowholly, Attireech, Newport Road, James Street, The Crescent, and other areas in the vicinity are experiencing a disruption to the supply.
Irish Water representative, Ronan McDonnell, moved to assure those affected that supply would be returned as soon as possible.
“It’s expected to have repairs complete later tonight," he stated. "Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.
"However, as the system recharges, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network. We thank our customers for their patience while we carry out these emergency works.”
