THE N5 between Westport and Castebar has reopened after a car caught fire on the dual carriageway heading towards Westport this evening, The Mayo News can confirm.
Emergency services attended the scene of the blaze and brought it under control.
No injuries occurred because of the incident, which resulted in the road towards Westport being closed for a period of time, causing delays for motorists travelling from Castlebar.
