In the lead-in to this Sunday's All-Ireland semi-final between Mayo and Tipperary we've been running 'The Road to Croker' series on the Mayo News football podcast. With the big day fast approaching, we've now reached the end of this particular road with the sixth and final episode in this podcast series.
In this episode host Rob Murphy is joined by podcast regulars Billy Joe Padden and Colin Sheridan for some final thoughts ahead of Sunday's semi-final. The lads shoot the breeze on the ups and downs Mayo have experienced over the course of this strangest of years, with Colin drawing an analogy between James Horan's side and a man with strong Mayo connections, US President-elect Joe Biden, in light of how both have this year engineered a dramatic rebound in their respective fortunes.
Narrowing the focus back onto the game, Billy Joe considers the kind of game plan Mayo are likely to adopt at Croke Park. Not surprisingly, given the injection of so much pace into the team this year, he reckons it's one that will involve plenty of running.
To wrap up this episode, the lads turn their thoughts to the practicalities of game day itself from the supporters' perspective. With all Championship matches taking place behind closed doors this year, they describe their ideal environment for watching matches at home.
