Commercial officer contract not renewed

The Mayo News understands that club delegates and chairpersons were also informed during last week’s meetings that Tom Reilly would not be continuing in his role as Mayo GAA’s Chief Commercial Officer.
County Board chairman Liam Moffatt is believed to have explained that Mr Reilly’s contract was not being renewed due to the wide-ranging economic effects of Covid-19 that has also impacted negatively on Mayo GAA’s finances.
Mr Reilly’s appointment as Mayo GAA’s first Chief Commercial Officer was ratified at a County Board meeting on June 25 last year, and was understood to be on a 12-month term.
Club representatives were also told last week that a number of sponsorship deals had been renewed under Mr Reilly’s stewardship, including those with Intersport Elverys (title sponsors), Smyths Toys (Academy sponsors), and O’Neills Sports (teamwear).
These new deals were officially ratified at last Monday night’s County Board meeting, according to a Mayo GAA statement.
