Morrison: "We came close"

“We didn’t win but we came close"

MICKEY MORAN’S assistant, John Morrison was his usual forthright self after Sunday’s All-Ireland Final.“We didn’t win but we came close in an All-Ireland final. At the end of the day people in Mayo will look at themselves and feel that another day is gone by. Nothing’s impossible, it’s only because its never been done before. As someone said during the week, Mayo will stop losing finals some day. It didn’t happen this year.
“To be fair to the boys they’ve had tremendous attitude but, as I always say to them, it happens. We suffered with this in Derry. Most teams up and down the country suffer from it.”
