ALL-STAR corner-forward Conor Mortimer is one of five players dropped from the Mayo team for Sunday’s vital National Football League clash with Limerick at McHale Park, Castlebar.
Mortimer has scored just one point from play in two games in the NFL and drops to the bench along with goalkeeper David Clarke, David Heaney, Pat Harte and Austin O’Malley.
There are NFL debuts for both Kenneth O’Malley and Aidan Campbell with Ballina trio Enda Devenney, Ronan McGarrity and Ger Brady also coming into the team.
John O’Mahony has restructured his team’s attack quite dramatically for Sunday’s match with Ger Brady named at centre-half forward and Trevor Mortimer now on the edge of the square.
The Mayo team was announced after training last night (Thursday).
Mayo: Kenneth O’Malley; Liam O’Malley, James Kilcullen; Keith Higgins; Enda Devenney, Billy Joe Padden, Peadar Gardiner; Ronan McGarrity, David Brady; Kevin O’Neill, Ger Brady, Alan Dillon; Aidan Campbell, Trevor Mortimer, Andy Moran.
