Teresa died peacefully at her home in Carnaclay surrounded by her family on February 14, 2021. Teresa was born on June 24,1941, in Carrowbeg, Kilmeena, to Michael and Mary Duffy. She attended the Vocational School in Westport, where in her final year her name was put forward to become a bookkeeper in Golden’s Drapery Shop on Bridge Street. It was there she made lifelong friends and her beloved husband Seamus who she married in 1974. The couple went on to have two children, son James and daughter Cathy, who she was deeply devoted to. Teresa valued the most important things in life, family and faith. She was a lifelong member of the Pioneer Association in which she received her Golden Jubilarian and Fr Cullan medal. Teresa’s home was a house of hospitality where the door was always open, the kettle always on and where many an evening was enjoyed with family, friends and neighbours. Nothing brightened up her day more than seeing her two grandchildren come to visit who she deeply adored.
Teresa was predeceased by her husband Seamus and brother Gerard. She is sadly missed by her son James, daughter Cathy, daughter-in-law Michelle, son-in-law Paul, granddaughter Emma, grandson James Thomas, sister Maureen (Foxford), brother Michael (Belcarra). nieces, nephews, relatives and large circle of friends.
