Ann Colbert (née Creedon)

Obituaries

New Road, Westport, Co Mayo.

Ann was a truly special person to her family and friends. She had the unique gift of making everyone she met feel special and loved. Her effusive praise for everyone, provided many with the impetus to meet life’s challenges with an extra injection of confidence.
For her husband Gerard she was a lifetime companion, who was by his side for over sixty years, their love and respect for each other increasing rather than fading as the years went by.
For her daughters, sons-in-law, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, she was a source of joy and each time they visited it was like the prodigal son returning, the joy was unbound. Her deep faith was her trade mark, her spirituality was a comfort to herself and those who needed succour in times of deep personal trials. She ‘stormed’ Heaven for exams, illnesses, family difficulties and said untold numbers of the decades of Rosary right up to the hours of her passing. Although a proud Cork woman, she and her husband Gerard fully and joyfully lived and loved their lives in Westport for over 50 years, embraced in turn by the fold of Westport people.
Deeply missed by her beloved husband Gerard, her daughters Geraldine, Patricia and Stephanie, sons-in-law Alain and Seán, grandchildren Christopher, Emilie, Jack, Michael, Claire, Ben, Alana, great-grandchildren and extended family and friends.
Her family were overwhelmed by the love and support extended from neighbours, friends, the entire Westport community and all who travelled from near and far.
Ann, you were GORGEOUS !!!
