Nora Conway

Kilsallagh, Westport

Nora was born on February 4, 1929, to Anne and Martin O’Malley, Thallabawn, Lousiburgh.  She was one of eight children, her only sister died in infancy and her father died when she was 7 years old. Thallabawn remained dear to Nora’s heart for the rest of her life and she visited there regularly. Following her marriage in 1955 to Tim Comway, she began her new life in Kilsallagh. Nora dedicated her life to her family and as well as caring for her own family, she also cared for her parents-in-law. Nora always welcomed neighbours, friends and relations into her home. She treated everyone the same with kindness, warmth and love. The kettle was always on the boil as well as her legendry brown bread and apple tarts, Nora was a woman of great faith and the rosary was a daily recital. Nora was laid to rest in Murrisk Abbey.
Nora was the wife of the late Tim Conway , mother of the late Mick. Nora is mourned by hers sons PJ and Brendan, Kilsallagh, Gerry, Suffolk, daughters Mary and Anne, Dublin, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sister-in-law, Mary and extended Conway and O’Malley families.
May her gentle soul rest in peace.
