Anne Creaney (née Dolan)


Portadown, Co Armagh and Shraheen, Aughagower

Anne will be greatly missed by her loving family and all her friends. Anne was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Anne was born on July 29, 1953 in Castlebar to the late Edward and Nora Dolan.
Anne was the eldest of a family of six. Anne received her early education in Shraheen National School, after school she spent a few years working in the shirt factory in Westport. She married Gerald Creaney from Portadown, Co Armagh in St Patrick’s Church, Aughagower on the April 13, 1974. They set up home in Portadown where they spent the rest of their lives and raised their family of two, son Thomas (Castlebar) and daughter Colette (Caherlistrane).
While Anne spent 45 years living in Portadown, her beloved Mayo was always close to her heart. With the power of the internet she could tune into Midwest Radio on a daily basis and she loved to receive her weekly copy of The Mayo News. Anne was a woman of strong faith, a regular Mass goer and when on holidays home, she loved to visit Knock Shrine. She would always have a holy candle burning, be it for someone sick or a family member doing exams. Anne was predeceased by her husband Gerald, parents Edward and Nora Dolan and sister Mary Gibbons.
Anne will be sadly missed by her son Thomas, daughter Colette, daughter-in-law Eilish, son-in-law Kevin, grandchildren Enda, Ciara, Nicole and Ryan, sister Noreen Heraty (Rockfield), brothers Eamon (UK), Michael and Tom (Shraheen), auntie Nonie (UK), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins​ and friends.
