For the second day in a row, Irish Water are contending with reports of a water outage in West Mayo.

Yesterday (Tuesday, January 27), customers in Achill were contending with supply issues. Now, one day on, Westport homes and businesses are experiencing an unexpected outage.

The Quays area of the town is affected by the problem.

"We understand the inconvenience that an unplanned outage can cause for homes and businesses," stated Irish Water representative, Ronan McDonnell, "and we wish to assure affected customers that we are doing all we can to address the problem as quickly as we can.”

An estimated repair time has not yet been supplied by Irish Water.
