Hoban's Centra on the Fairgreen in Westport.
Hoban’s Centra Westport has reopened its forecourt following a seven-week period of major maintenance work, with management expressing gratitude to customers who remained loyal during the disruption.
Co-owners Sean and Ciara Hoban are delighted that the petrol pumps are back in action and to thank customers for their patience, the store has implemented reduced fuel prices effective immediately.
Speaking to The Mayo News, Sean Hoban, one of the co-owners, explained that it was “a job that just had to get done.”
The essential maintenance work included removing underground tanks that had been in place for fifty years.
Specialist teams were required to empty the fuel from the tanks, while another specialist team managed the gas. The small size of the site made the job more complicated and resulted in the forecasted three weeks of maintenance works morphing into seven weeks.
